Happy Halloween!

It's all about speed this year for my little monsters - dressed up as an astronaut (Tanner) and a race car driver (Alex). Since there was no school on Halloween, the school Halloween party was Thursday. Halloween Day was the longest day ever with no school...just waiting to go trick-or-treating! They had so much fun, but were truly scared of some of the older kids costumes I think (and my legs have the claw marks from Alex to prove it!).
Tanner really wanted to be a skeleton or something scary...which I exercised my parental right to refuse. Growing up we never wore scary costumes and I don't think they need to at 5 years old. However, I'm thinking Alex could have made a pretty cute Incredible Hulk based on his impersonation below! Next year - superheros?

They looked great. We agree with you....why scary costumes when you could have so many choices with something fun or real like they were ressed in. Hope they had a lot of goodies in their bag.

Adorable! I hope they had lots of fun and got a ton of candy. We had a butterfly and a pumpkin this year. I'm with you on the scary costumes -- no thanks!

I heard that Tanner said he would wait until he was 7 to be a skeleton. I much prefer the astronaught and race car driver.

What cute costumes. I don't think anyone needs to be really scary on Halloween. I think the costumes and the gory movies desensitize people to awful horrible things. I remember when just seeing fake blood running down the drain gave me nightmares. Now, I still don't like the gore, but I can watch things like "Heroes" and get mildly shocked, but nothing like the reactions I used to have. Stay with the fun stuff. It's healthier!

Yea! A pictoral update so soon after Halloween! They looked adorable. I bet they had as much fun as my girls did. There were a few houses that Avery would not go up to. She is very scared of some of the creepy costumes we saw. Trick or treating is for kids, what's up with all the freaky teenagers in the neighborhood with their scary, bloody costumes on....some even smoking!!???!?
