We love calendars in the Wooden house. Of course we would...numbers...the repitition of the days of the week...it's all fairly predictable (except the whole 30 days vs. 31 days...or an occassional 29 days). Perfect example: Alex had a $20 bill I took from him yesterday, to which he quickly responded in a sing-song nanny-nanny-boo-boo voice 'But I still have my calendar!'. Yes Alex - you win - I have the $20 and you still have your calendar. Life is good.
So - summer is here. It's now June, and Tanner says June, July and August is the summertime. We don't mark summer by the last day of school or the official start of summer later this month or the first trip to the beach. The calendar page turned to June, so now it's summer. It's 77 degrees today so I'm going to take them to the pool (luckily it's heated) and go out for ice cream. We'll live up the big overnight change in seasons, and I'll post a few pictures later of the launch of our Summer 2008.

Dan used to be fond of calanders.
He was even more fascinated by statistics; populations, talest buildings, most touchdowns.
Then we all know about his romance with trains.
The things you tell us about Alex and Tanner remind me so much of Dan when he was their age.
I wish we could have gotten him more therapy, he benefited from some wonderful, insiteful teachers, but when I'd mention autism they all assured me Dan was too social to possibly be autistic.
He's having a great time on his summer gig aboard the QM2, so I think it balances out.
His musical gift results from is obesession with music, and a little natural talent.
Keep up the good work with the boys.
As I said before, I wish I'd known about Dan as early as you knew about Alex and Tanner.
Dan's going to be fine, and so will the Wooden boys. So will the Wooden parents. You guys ROCK!
Hooray for summer! We went to the zoo today to take advantage of the lovely day, although it wasn't quite as warm as we expected it to be. Mid 60s instead of 80s -- we should have dressed with a few more layers! Still, good times. Can't wait to see your pictures from the day!
I love summer too! Can't wait to see the pics!
